Black Moon Botanica was founded in early 2019 by Brooke Mackay-Brock, an astrologer and herbologist passionate about natural magick and ancient traditions. Starting in Edinburgh’s historic Old Town, Brooke’s vision was to create a beautifully curated shop offering unique tarot, ritual tools, crystals, books, and handmade artisan candles.
The Challenge
When we were approached by Black Moon Botanica, the company had 4 websites, two Wordpress Brochure sites and two Shopify ecommerce stores for their multiple stores in multiple countries. They wanted to simplify this for their internal management, we wanted to sell further the products, readings and events they host. Both sites needs to have a dark feel which was on brand but visually represent the same feeling as in store.
The Solution
We built out two new Shopify themes, these themes included not only commercial sections for products and collections, but landing pages for all other aspects of the business, from stockist, locations, readings and events. Each of these pages was uniquely designed based on the content type provided. As part of this we removed both Wordpress sites and redirect all traffic, making both Shopify stores the primary platform on both top level domains.
